What's The Biggest Difference In Today's JWs And The Witnesses From Decades Ago?

i believe today's witnesses lack zeal, resolve, "love" of the "truth"......just to name a few things.. years ago, witnesses were excited to knock on doors and tell people they were gonna die if they didn't accept paradise.. now, when you see jws in service, they all look zombied out.. it's a slowly dying religion that will last probably forever like an ancient rotted out tree..

Way back they were serving purposefully but with a date in mind, nowadays they are just in for a joyless long haul experience - SOON !

hi, folks,.

for many years my immediate family and i have been messing with stinging insects of all kinds.

in fall (when they are most active), our phones about ring off the hook.

Family Worship Night percentages

i am curious how many families actually do this, and how many lie and say they do.

i would guess it is less than 50%.

i would say it is a good night for tv.. jk.

My wife is my family. And I worship her that night extra much. She gives praise to God repeatedly.

Unproductive Anger

i have a feeling i may need to cut back a bit here.

it's doing nothing but fueling my anger and i'm not sure that anger is any longer productive (kind of like the org itself).

i think it was for me.. i knew a lot of the history of the bible students, russell, rutherford and the "old light".

once i could see all of the overwhelming evidence right in front of my eyes, there was no ignoring the reality..

"It may be beneficial to set forth here a typical everyday schedule followed by the Gilead student during his five-month course:

7 a.m. Discussion of daily text, conducted by the Society’s
president, followed by breakfast
8–11:50 a.m. Fifty students, in two groups of twenty-five each,
attend classes in Bible and languages; the other half
of the student body receives practical training in
various departments of the Bethel home, office and
factory, under supervision of departmental overseers
12:15 p.m. Dinner
12:50– All students attend lecture in school lecture
1:50 p.m. hall. A Society director, overseer of a Bethel
department or an instructor gives a one-hour talk on
Bible, ministerial or organizational subject
2–5:50 p.m. Half of student body alternates in same program as morning sessions
6 p.m. Supper
7-10 p.m. Study in dormitory room or in school’s 10,000-volume library

Saturday afternoons and Sundays are set aside for attending meetings of the congregation in New York city to which the student is assigned, and for field service and study. Friday evenings are filled by attendance and participation in the congregation’s Theocratic Ministry School and service meeting.

This busy program keeps everyone spiritually healthy and equips the student for the very active schedule he will follow in the missionary home or branch home of the Society to which he will be assigned after graduation. "

are they deluded enough to think that it must happen soon?

or are they just stringing everyone along?.

personaly i think that russell had good intentions and probably belived what he wrote ( although dosn't make it right) but i don't belive that any other gb has really belived the trash that is supposed to be the jw religon.

have anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?

its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .

if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

Roughly 2,000 years ago they were 'spot on', give or take a few hours.

Nowadays it is a bicentennial hit or miss lookout.
