What's The Biggest Difference In Today's JWs And The Witnesses From Decades Ago?
by minimus ini believe today's witnesses lack zeal, resolve, "love" of the "truth"......just to name a few things.. years ago, witnesses were excited to knock on doors and tell people they were gonna die if they didn't accept paradise.. now, when you see jws in service, they all look zombied out.. it's a slowly dying religion that will last probably forever like an ancient rotted out tree..

In the Awake! February 2012 issue, page 21, there is an article on paper wasps.
Did you contribute to that particular segment by any chance?

Family Worship Night percentages
by JRK ini am curious how many families actually do this, and how many lie and say they do.
i would guess it is less than 50%.
i would say it is a good night for tv.. jk.

Family Worship Night, huh?
My wife is my family. And I worship her that night extra much. She gives praise to God repeatedly.

Unproductive Anger
by agonus inhi friends,.
i have a feeling i may need to cut back a bit here.
it's doing nothing but fueling my anger and i'm not sure that anger is any longer productive (kind of like the org itself).

Unproductive anger? Psychology teaches that anger is more useful than dispair.

Was The Internet The Clincher For You To Mentally Leave The Organization?
by minimus ini think it was for me.. i knew a lot of the history of the bible students, russell, rutherford and the "old light".
.
once i could see all of the overwhelming evidence right in front of my eyes, there was no ignoring the reality..

Excerpts from the Yearbook 1970, p. 72:
"It may be beneficial to set forth here a typical everyday schedule followed by the Gilead student during his five-month course:
7 a.m. Discussion of daily text, conducted by the Society’s
president, followed by breakfast
8–11:50 a.m. Fifty students, in two groups of twenty-five each,
attend classes in Bible and languages; the other half
of the student body receives practical training in
various departments of the Bethel home, office and
factory, under supervision of departmental overseers
12:15 p.m. Dinner
12:50– All students attend lecture in school lecture
1:50 p.m. hall. A Society director, overseer of a Bethel
department or an instructor gives a one-hour talk on
Bible, ministerial or organizational subject
2–5:50 p.m. Half of student body alternates in same program as morning sessions
6 p.m. Supper
7-10 p.m. Study in dormitory room or in school’s 10,000-volume library
Saturday afternoons and Sundays are set aside for attending meetings of the congregation in New York city to which the student is assigned, and for field service and study. Friday evenings are filled by attendance and participation in the congregation’s Theocratic Ministry School and service meeting. This busy program keeps everyone spiritually healthy and equips the student for the very active schedule he will follow in the missionary home or branch home of the Society to which he will be assigned after graduation. They are so used to lying,
they don't even tell The Truth™ to each other.

RUSSIA: No ban - 'Watchtower' major income source of GB
by bats in the belfry inthe jehovah's witnesses contested the order in a moscow commercial court.
they said the ban on their publications was unlawful because the publications were the major sources of revenue for the organization.
banning the publications violated their rights to pursue their core activities as an organization.

To my knowledge the magazines are on a givaway basis. Maybe they are using 'theocratic warfare' tactics on the Russians.

In the Bible “three days” does not necessarily mean three full days.
In the Bible “a generation” does not necessarily mean a generation of 48/70/80 years.
Roughly 2,000 years ago they were 'spot on', give or take a few hours.
Nowadays it is a bicentennial hit or miss lookout.
